Cheats

ArcStation support DuckStation-compatible extended GameShark cheat code files with .cht extension.

Each cheat file must meet the following requirements:

  • Use the .cht file extension.
  • Be named after the game’s PlayStation serial number.
  • Be smaller than 100 KB.
  • Be placed in the /arcstation/cheats folder on the SD card.

Here’s an example of the file structure on the SD card:

  • Directoryarcstation
    • Directorycheats
      • SCUS-94003.cht
      • SLES-00013.cht
      • SLUS-00001.cht
      • SLPM-80029.cht

The easiest way to obtain compatible cheat files is from the DuckStation’s Cheats Database repository.

ArcStation supports most cheat opcodes, but not all of them. The following opcodes are currently unsupported:

  • 10/11, 20/21, 60/61
  • 1F, A5
  • C1
  • C2, 53
  • D5 / D6
  • F0-F4
  • 51xx, 52xx

If a cheat in a .cht file contains an unsupported opcode, that cheat will not appear in the Cheats menu.

The cheat engine can store up to 96 opcodes at a time. You may enable any number of cheats as long as their combined opcode count does not exceed 96.

The current memory usage is shown in the lower-right corner of the Cheats menu.
